Warranties

You’ll notice that safes with lifetime or limited lifetime warranties are more expensive. Every warranty has its terms and you should pay close attention to the details. Some companies cover mechanical and workmanship defects, others also cover damage to the safe due to break-in attempts, fire damage, or flood. The contents of your safe should be covered under your home-owner's insurance policy, as designed. The terms of the warranty may require you to provide a copy of the police report and/or insurance claim, as well as pay for some or all of the shipping to and from the factory.

For your own piece of mind, purchase a safe with the warranty that your budget allows, simply look for a safe company that has a good reputation.
