When it comes time to move you have two options- sell the safe (maybe to the next occupant/homeowner) or take it with you. Depending on the size/weight and current and future location of the safe, it may not make economic sense to take it with you. You could easily spend two thirds the cost of a new safe just to get it moved from its old location into its new location.
