Combo Or Electric Lock?

Electronic and manual locks may be either very secure or not, their design is the determining factor. Which type to use depends on your budget and application. While a manual tumbler lock is generally less expensive, more robust and less susceptible to failure, the electronic lock provides quicker entry, is easier to re-program and allows for multiple codes. Avoid electronic locks which have only two wires connecting the keypad to the interior mechanism as these may be "hotwired" and therefore not as secure. This type of lock is commonly found on less expensive safes.

Businesses, with many employees who have access to the safe or need to gain entry frequently, will find the electronic lock most convenient. Homeowners may also enjoy the quick entry and multiple code capability of a digital keypad.
